This policy explains what personal data the Study Master app collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, and Google’s EU User Consent Policy.
DoDo London LTD (“DoDo London”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to do so under Article 37 of the UK/EU GDPR.
Study Master is designed so that most of your data never leaves your phone.

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password. We do not sell your personal data.
The following is stored in the app’s private storage on your phone. We cannot see it, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data:
When you open the Battle tab, the app signs you in to Google Firebase with an anonymous account. This creates a random identifier for your device. It is not linked to your Google account, email address, or real name.
The following is then stored on Google Firebase servers:
The app shows a single banner advertisement supplied by Google AdMob. To do this, Google may process your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with the ad.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example which screens are opened and whether the app crashes. This includes automatically collected device and app information and the advertising identifier.

Google’s EU User Consent Policy requires us to identify each party that may collect, receive or use personal data as a result of your use of the app. Those parties are:

Where Google acts as an advertising partner, it may also engage third-party ad networks and measurement providers. The current list is maintained by Google at the AdMob link above.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent before any personalised advertising is requested. We use Google’s User Messaging Platform to present this choice and to record your response. No advertising is requested until you have responded.
You can change your choice at any time:
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it. If you withdraw consent, you will still see advertising, but it will not be personalised.
Study Master is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The app is rated for a general audience.
The app includes a child protection mode in its settings. When switched on, ad requests are tagged as child-directed and as being for a user below the digital age of consent, only non-personalised advertising is requested, and ad content is limited to a general-audience rating. Parents and guardians of younger users should switch this on.
In the EU, the digital age of consent is between 13 and 16 depending on the country. If you are below that age in your country, please use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We are established in the United Kingdom. Our service providers, principally Google, process data on servers in the European Economic Area and in the United States. Our Realtime Database instance is hosted in the EU (europe-west1).
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, that transfer is protected by an adequacy decision, or by Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, along with any additional safeguards required.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in section 1. Because accounts are anonymous, please include your Battle ID — the six-character code at the bottom of the Battle tab — so we can identify your records. Without it we may be unable to locate your data, and we may have to ask for further information before we can act on your request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or to the supervisory authority in your EU country of residence.
All communication between the app and our service providers uses encrypted connections. Access to data on Firebase is restricted by server-side security rules: you can only write to your own records, study records cannot be altered after they are created, and social messages can only be read by their recipient.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If we make a material change to how we use your personal data, we will seek your consent again where the law requires it.
